      The island has been forever bound with the mythical Perseus, who sailed from Serifos to kill the Medoussa. The capital "Chora" is an excuisite image of bright white houses climbing the hills, all the way up to the Castle. At its feet is the port, Livadi, with its golden sandy beach. Serifos being somewhat an exception to the usally bare cyclades, is quite green. Described by some as the idea place for vacation, with its long sandy beaches, and the beauty of the surroundings.
